Renovations of the car parks and cars at Rangiroa airport were inaugurated on Friday, December 08, 2017

This ceremony took place in the presence of many personalities, including Mrs. Nicole BOUTEAU, Minister of Tourism and Chair of the ADT Board of Directors, Mr. Teina MARAEURA, Mayor of Rangiroa, accompanied by his municipal council, as well as gentlemen the Administrators of the State and the Country of Tuamotu East-Gambier.

This work is part of the investment plan adopted for the four airports operated by ADT (Tahiti-Faa’a, Bora Bora, Raiatea and Rangiroa) on behalf of the State. With the exception of Tahiti-Faa’a, the investments made at Bora Bora, Raiatea and Rangiroa airports are financed by the State, under the ownership of the operator ADT, which is responsible for the studies. , consulting companies and monitoring these operations.

The investments dedicated to aircraft parking had proved indispensable in view of the state of wear of the asphalt surfaces, which generated detachments of gravel that could ultimately pose a risk to the safety of flights.

The works consisted, on the airside, in:

· The repair of degraded aeronautical pavements;

· The extension of the aircraft parking area to comply with the obstruction distance regulations;

· Updating the lighting and marking of the restricted areas.

On the city side, ADT has completely overhauled the operation of the vehicle parking to increase its capacity, and especially to ensure the evacuation of rainwater.

These operations now provide better operating conditions at Rangiroa Airport, whose traffic statistics have increased significantly since last year. At the end of November, cumulative growth in passenger traffic stood at + 7.7%.

Amount of investment: 203 million CFP francs (1,701,165 euros)
