The importation of plants, plant products, animals, animal products, and foodstuffs into French Polynesia is strictly regulated.

Upon your arrival at Tahiti-Faa’a airport

You will be required to declare at the biosecurity counter, located after the customs service, any item of plant or animal origin, such as plants, food, seeds, flowers, etc.

If you are traveling to the islands from Tahiti-Faa’a

Without knowing it, you could become a vector for invasive species and plant diseases, some of which have not yet reached certain islands. The transport of plants and animals to the islands is subject to strict phytosanitary conditions, which you can find in detail on the Biosecurity Directorate website.

TRAVELING WITH AN ANIMAL

The introduction and importation of all live animals into French Polynesia are subject to a prior import permit issued by the Ministry in charge of the Biosecurity Directorate.
